Nowra Day VIEW celebrated Italy for their September meeting, starting with an Italian dinner of Lasanga, Salad and Dessert of Cheese cake (We wanted Tiramisu but it was too expensive) followed by our guest speaker Mr Guido Romito. Guido came to Australia in 1970 becoming a fervent resident 4 years later. He was well travelled across Italy where he went to South Africa where he lost everything he had because of war and came to Australia with nothing. Guido spoke of 22 different regions each with it’s own identity and some animosity between North and South Romatic Cities. Illegal immigrants pose problems of social conflict and crime.

The photographer from the local paper did a spread of the day to “follow up“ on our day handing out our leaflets promoting our club. We were very pleased to receive 2 ladies from this project. Their photo was taken to be included in the paper.
