By joining the Housing Tenants Group. By letting us know that you'd like to be contacted if one of the not-for-profit rental housing blocks becomes available for private purchase. However, this eventuality is unlikely - we are in the final stages of reaching a partnership with housing provider CHL to build 10 houses on five lots, which are dedicated to affordable housing for a minimum of 40 years. By lending to the project as bridging finance for the period in which the affordable housing is built. All funds for land purchase, specialist consultants and other expenses came from loans from private individuals. The considerable extra funding needed to pay for infrastructure works was secured from a bank, with some very welcome additional loans from the community at more favourable terms. Most of these loans have now been returned. Please contact Chris Allen of the Finance Team by email if you can lend us money to help assure the affordable housing can progress while we seek permanent donations/philanthropic funds. By making a donation to our Affordable Housing funds, or by volunteering in our fundraising efforts. By expressing your support and enthusiasm for our project and objectives. BEND currently has over 60 members. The public and all BEND members are most welcome to attend our general meetings, or can receive copies of our minutes. Our active members have divided into a series of teams that also meet to address specific tasks. Please contact us if you wish to offer your expertise, energy or simply good wishes.
