Take a pictorial trip with us to the 2004 Women's Gathering at Coonabarabran and be inspired to come to Bega 2005.
| It was a dozen years ago
When Gatherings began
And here we are:
2004
in
Coonabarabran!!! |
We've travelled far
from east and west
From the north
and the deep south,
Because we value the sorts of things that Gatherings are about!
| |
| We all acquire some
Knowledge
Have fun
and shed a tear
We build up contacts and friendships
that will last for years and years. |
And oh what treats we have eagerly consumed during this friendly,
entertaining weekend.
You've fed our bodies, hearts and minds
What a shame it has to end!
| Friday night was a
fun fiesta
to begin the
festivities
(comedienne
Fiona O'Loughlan) |
Then through the workshops....
(Workshop: know your soil)
| you offered us......
(workshop on Massage) |
| Then through the workshops you offered us
Quite delightful activities!
(Workshop on Art Appreciation) |
| In forums we were
encouraged
to explore the
communities heart |
| And Saturday night,
over dinner
we reached up
to the stars |
Through song
and dance
and thought
and speech | |
We've explored
what it is to be..
......... | |
| A vital, vibrant
woman
in our local
community |
| The Gathering ceremonial candle is handed over from the Coonabarabran committee to the Bega committee.
"The light goes on"
Cis Bruce (front right) passes the flame onto Dawn Hollins (secretary of the Bega committee) and Wilma Chinnock(president of the Bega Committee)
|
A feature of the Women's Gatherings is the wide variety of workshops ranging from coffee appreciation, craft, business and personal development to singing, silverware, learning another language.....the list goes on
Bega will be offering in excess of 40 workshops for you to choose from.
| The Coonabarabran Town Band provided welcoming music for the formal dinner on Saturday night.
At the Bega gathering we will be showcasing some of our local talent as well as bringing vibrant and entertaining women from Canberra and Melbourne |
| You may want to move to the beat of a distant drum whilst at a gathering workshop. You will be able to select three workshops and get a first taste of a new craft that you always wanted to try.
Some workshops are for professional and personal development. At Coonabarabran, the workshop "How to succeed and still have a life" was indeed so inspiring that we have secured the services of Michael Kneipp to present this workshop in Bega. |
