AIM To ensure that all those using this Scheme are given a professional and safe environment they can trust. RATIONALE Families, children, Carers and Staff have a right to expect that their confidential information is safeguarded to the best of this Scheme’s ability. The knowledge that confidentiality is observed by this Scheme will give all those participating in it a sense of confidence and trust. STRATEGIES Strict confidentiality will be observed on the following information kept by the Scheme: • All Carers’ personal details; • All personal details of Families and children, including percentages of subsidy which are kept with the Co-ordination Unit and the Carers for purposes of fee calculations; • Details of any children's assessments; • All Staff details; • All information imparted in confidence, as long as a child's life and welfare are not put at risk. • And any other such information as delineated in the 11 Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. It is understood that the welfare of children and the workability of the Scheme will, at times, require exchange of information between all members of the Scheme. This exchange should remain within the framework of necessary information only and be channeled through the Co-ordination Unit.
