St Simons Partner Church Visit to Floriade on 13th-14th September.
In the end, only Judith and Dorothy were able to make the trip to Canberra. Both Judith and Dorothy reported that it was very well worthwhile. They started the visit with a picnic lunch before visiting Floriade, which was a gorgeous sight to behold. The day was very hot, so lots of rests were required.
On the Sunday, Judith and Dorothy went to the early service, and then had a cup of tea with the parishioners, before heading for home. They thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and were made very welcome by St Simons, who expressed the hope that more members of the Cobargo/ Bermagui Parish will be able to attend any future events.
Join them to visit the Floriade in September 2008
Our partner church, St Simons has invited us to come and join them to visit the Floriade in Canberra over the weekend Friday 12th September to Sunday 14th September. The Floriade transforms the usually green canvas of Commonwealth Park into a tapestry of colour. Over a million colourful bulbs and annuals bloom on cue, creating a vibrant display said to be unrivalled by any other event of its kind. Members of the congregation will billet us, visit the Floriade on Saturday, and then we will join them on Sunday at their service and social activities. It is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know others in our Christian family at our partner Church better, and at the same time, see the Floriade. If you would like to join us, please contact: Fiona, Sue, Robyn or Dorothy
The process of getting to know our partner Church, St Simons, is progressing well. Eight people from St Simons joined us for the Anzac Day long weekend and we had a wonderful opportunity to get to know each other further. Fiona
