What is a Colonic

This is a restorative, painless procedure, which is both relaxing and effective. To begin, the therapist inserts a small disposable tube about into the rectum. Then, you lie comfortably on your back for about forty-five minutes while mildly warm, filtered water flows continuously in and out through the tube. The therapist does some light abdominal massage to relax the colon maintaining your privacy at all times. Waste material is softened and flows gently out of the body with the water.  After the session is completed, you visit the bathroom and dress.

Diets of saturated fats, meats, sugars and processed foods contribute to impacted faeces along the inside of the colon wall. We absorb pesticides, herbicides, additives and preservatives from the food we eat, pollutants in the air, chlorine and purifying solutions in water, chemicals from detergents and household cleansers, along with petrol-chemicals and others found in our personal hygiene products.

Colonics hydrate not only the colon but the whole body. You may be drinking water and still be dehydrated due to dried mucous and matter inside the colon. The intestines produce mucous along their inner lining for protection and these irritants increase that production. As the mucous moves through the bowels, it becomes dry and adheres to the colon wall, impacting and inhibiting normal bowel elimination. A person may carry as much as 2-20 kilograms of dried faecal matter and mucous. Eliminating this impacted matter promotes better bowel function, release of toxins throughout the body and enhances overall health.

The colon recycles over 70% of important body fluids including, electrolytes, enzymes, hormones and more. Your body has to reproduce these every day if your colon doesn’t do a good job recycling. Colonics hydrate the colon cell tissue to promote this absorption process.  A hydrated colon is essential for the other organs of digestion.  The  small intestine, stomach, liver, gall bladder and pancreas depend upon this hydration to produce their digestive fluids. The colon hydrates the blood and lymph fluids which in turn hydrate the body’s cells so that they may release stored toxins.
