After the first meeting - this...

Hi All,

We are just about to enter the most important phase of the TT concept, public education. Education will build confidence and therefore committment. To that effect the relentless Matthew Nott has organised a public forum on Solar, Wind and Bio gas development to be held at the Bega RSL on the 21st August.

Matthew and CEFE would like to invite Transition Town people to present the concept there as well. This is an opportunity to develop our presentations based on public education of the concept and the benefits of the mixing pot TT offers. We need to hone this down to be effective and engaging, remember this is only one part of the many strategies we will need to develop to communicate TT to the people before the great unleashing.

Our this meeting this friday would be an ideal time to begin to formulate strategies for public eductaion, encompassing web and Austcom, radio, TV, papers, community groups, schools, Sustain etc etc

We had a fantastic meet and greet with BVSC today. We re enforced the idea of the social, economic and environmental responsibilities of local government in the face of the impacts of peak oil and climate change, also our community's existing genius and charisma that have made the drive(will make the drive) to TT all the more realistic and achieveable.  All went well, I think we need to formalize the invititation for council to provide a staff member to participate in the Energy Decent Action Plan and then a formal written request to be part of the review committee for the new draft LEP.

Surprising conversations afterwards with council staff some of whom are already upto speed with the notion of TT.
