The Multi Purpose Family Centre

The Multi Purpose Family Centre (MPFC) project has been coordinated by Gabrielle Powell since February 2004. The MPFC will be an extension to the preschool and will be built by 2009.

MPFC project is to develop partnerships with the community and other agencies and programs to provide a range of services to support and benefit the community of Wallaga Lake. 

The project aims to build on existing community supports to strengthen the community and work with the Local Aboriginal Child, Youth and Family Service network to improve planning and coordination of service provision to the community.

The Project will enhance family functioning, increase a sense of belonging in the community, increase the use of community services by residents and establish and implement programs that are identified by the community. This project will play a key role in

·                     Identifying community needs

·                     Establishment of collaborative relationships and partners with local key child and family services

·                     Stronger community links with Aboriginal families, early childhood services & other partners

·                     Increased well-being of children

·                     Assisting in the development of referral processes

·                     Identify and enhance local families access to early intervention and support networks
