Birds 3

Hang gliding Penguin:

Actually this is not, as some of my friends have unkindly suggested, a manufactured image. It is a Sea Eagle with a Fairy Penguin in it's talons. The photo was taken off the headland at Bermagui.

Grey Butcher bird:

I was privileged to capture our resident Butch in a few moments of rare repose on the pergola.

Grey Butcher bird:

This fierce and active little guy is not particularly tame or confiding, but he will sometimes come down and work the other side of the splitting block from me, when there are termites in the fire wood.

Three young Grey Butcherbirds:

Though adult butcherbirds have been around the place for many years, this is the first summer (2008-9) we have noticed young birds in our house yard.

Grey Goshawk:

A favourite perch, it would seem, allowing a good view of activities in and around the large lagoon to the east of Bega.
