As part of the Cobargo Historic Village Walk there are 10 phones located in businesses that allow you to hear from older members of the community and hear some interesting snippets of bygone years.
Cobargo Tourist & Business Assoc. is proud to be opening its volunteer run Tourist Information Centre.
The official opening will be 27th October the same day that the monthly markets are on.
The information centre is located in one of the storage sheds at the north of town. The monthly markets held on the 4th Saturday of the month are being relocated to this site.

Cobargo is located on the Far South Coast of NSW, Australia.
Since the search for new pastures brought the first white settlers in the 1830s Cobargo has been a working village, building on its natural resources to become largely self-sufficient. Cobargo started as a dairying and cheese-making town in the 1870s, with a butter factory opening in 1901.
Cobargo became known as Wattletown, because of the wattle bark stripping industry. Wattle bark was used by leather tanneries.
Today Cobargo is still a rural community with a village atmosphere, which provides an ideal stop for travelers. The craftspeople of Cobargo carry on the towns traditions of productivity and self-sufficiency.
It is the northern gateway to the Sapphire Coast (extending from Cobargo to the Victorian Border) and is perfectly situated on the main tourist road for travellers from Sydney, Bermagui and Bega. We are about 20 kms inland from the cleanest beaches in Australia.
