NETHERCOTE VISUAL ARTS EXHIBITIONNethercote Art, Heritage & Culture Group is presenting an exhibition of works by local artists at the recently renovated Nethercote Hall on the Cnr of Nethercote and Back Creek Rds Nehtercote. The Exhibition is the first of it's kind to be held at the hall and will feature a collection of Art, Sculpture and Pottery. Opening Night is Friday 9th of January commencing at 7PM all are welcome to attend. The exhibition is open to the public from the 10th to the 16th of January, 10am - 5pm.

We won't be meeting on the first Friday this month. Instead BVSS will gather on Thursday 15th (3rd Thursday) in the afternoon. Everyone is warmly welcome to join in for whatever period of time they have to spare between 2 and 5pm.

Assemble at the SCHVC clubrooms at 9:30am for morning tea & a 10:00am departure. Travel through Eden, then south to the Imlay Road up to Bombala for a picnic lunch. The Brogo Dam LifeSaving Energy Big Swim will be a 7 km swim in the Brogo Dam on 8/2/09, and will be a fundraiser for solar panels for the St Johns Church in Bega. We will need to raise about $12 500 for a 2kW system. Entry fee is by donation. The Tathra surf club will provide water safety, and St Johns church will hold a service on the day and provide spiritual safety.All competent swimmers are welcome. Wet suits are permitted, as are relay teams. Part of the Clean Energy Big Swim Series for 2009. Paddlers start at Bermagui Bridge for a 6km paddle while swimmers have a wild start in the Bermagui forest at Rose Bay for a 3km swim and sand bank runfinishing with a deep water sprint to The Crossing. Lunch provided to all competitors as part of the entry.
This annual event on our Club calendar includes a fancy dress street parade and display of historic vehicles, over 100 food and market stalls, carnival, novelty events, music and entertainment, monster auction, quality arts, crafts and photographic exhibitions, pet pageant and much more. Always a good outing for the SCHVC.Make your way independently to be at Bermagui by 9:30am. Parade begins at 10:00am. Assembly area is on the headland park, eastern end of the main street. Held on the second Saturday in March each year, the Bermagui Seaside Fair is a multi award winning tourism event attracting around 10,000 people. It includes a traditional Blessing of the Fleet ceremony, fancy dress street parade, over 100 market stalls, carnival, sandcastle competition, helicopter joy flights over the scenic coastline, music and entertainment on two stages, quality arts and crafts and photographic exhibitions, pet pageant, kid's novelty events and more.Since 2007 the feature event of the Fair has been "Sculpture on the Edge", an exhibition large sculptural pieces held in the magnificent setting of Endeavour Point Headland, as well as an indoor exhibition of smaller sculpture works and a public symposium.
