Marine Organisations on display
Sapphire Rescue will be available for the public to view during the Patrol's open day on Sunday 11th of January between 10am to 2pm. NSW Maritime & Australian Customs will also be onsite with displays and staff on hand to answer your questions.
The Merimbula Division of The Royal Volunteer Coastal Patrol will be holding an Open Day at their base, Merimbula Big Game Fishing Club rooms, Merimbula, on Sunday 11 January commencing at 10am until 2pm. Both NSW Maritime and Customs will be coming along to participate in this once a year event. The local community and visitors to the area, are invited to come along and gain further understanding about these important marine services. Two marine vessels will be open for inspection, RVCP rescue vessel “Sapphire Rescue” and a 34' Steber craft belonging to NSW Maritime. Within the Fishing Club rooms, visitors will be able to observe the RVCP radio room in action and view static displays provided by Customs, NSW Maritime and the Coastal Patrol. This should prove an interesting ,informative and enjoyable day so do come along and meet those involved with marine safety.
