Moruya Country Market Inc. is a non profit organisation that donates to local charity, pays rent and insurance for overall site, does some advertising and administers stall holders on a weekly basis.
Rommie Gerber-Reddington
Born in Austria 1948 living in Australia since 1976
She has been involved with textiles and fibres all her adult life.
Her early art education was heavily influenced by the Bauhaus and the Wiener Werkstaette art movement.
Her background and ethnic heritage formed a strong passion for anything tactile and led to an eclectic assortment of creations.
Most of her items have a strong linear and graphic design structure and dramaticly contrasting colours.
Rommie is constantly experimenting with the combination of ancient and ethnic art and craft techniques and modern technology.
Her preferred materials are natural fibres such as Silks, Cotton, Linen, Hemp and Wool.
These fabrics are manipulated with all aspects of surface design.
In her 2 ½, 3D and installations pieces components of recycled textiles, fibres and collectables are prominently featured.
The Brogo Dam LifeSaving Energy Big Swim will be a 7 km swim in the Brogo Dam on 8/2/09, and will be a fundraiser for solar panels for the St Johns Church in Bega. We will need to raise about $12 500 for a 2kW system. Entry fee is by donation. The Tathra surf club will provide water safety, and St Johns church will hold a service on the day and provide spiritual safety.All competent swimmers are welcome. The second annual jindabyne LifeSaving Energy Big Swim will be held on 22/2/09, and will be a fundraiser for solar panels for the Jindabyne Rural Fire Station.The main event will be a 7km swim from Kalkite to Jindabyne, and all competent swimmers are welcome. Wet suits are permitted, as are relay teams.
