Daniel Champagne is a 19yr old Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist hailing from the Far South Coast of NSW with a musical maturity well beyond his years and a way of playing the guitar that simply has to be seen to be believed.
Brought up on a diet of Blues, Folk and Rock music, Daniel first picked up the guitar over eleven years ago.
Solid groundings in classical, finger style, electric, lap slide and some more experimental approaches have lent themselves to a playing style that is instantly his own.
Using a variety of funky tunings, Daniel combines 2-hand tapping, classical picking, fiery runs and extensive percussive use of the body. Creating dynamic accompaniments in and around the smooth vocal work through each of his thoughtfully crafted originals. This and his ability to whip up a storm on the lap slide and drive home foot stomping rhythms makes Daniel’s performance a must see. And has had him discovered by festivals of the likes of Woodford and the National Folk at just 19.
In August 2008, Daniel set about recording his 8-track debut EP at Pirate studios Bournda, NSW.
The Results will be released in December this year.
