Many, many communities throughout NSW, especially on the coast, continue to fight inappropriate development.  Most of these developments are being pushed through without any attention to the needs or wants of the affected communities.

In mid-November 2009, the beleaguered Hastings Point communityhad a major victory.  Despite a pro-development history, the council could not ignore the overwhelming evidence put forward by the community, and has knocked back a major, inappropriate development application.

Several communities are using the Environmental Defenders Office to support their causes.  The EDO has been very thorough and useful.
