Welcome to the Website of the Oaklands Community Garden Pambula

No Dig Garden Beds

Garden Plots Available

The community garden has been established from a generous donation of land, soil and irrigation by Barry Moffitt & family from the Oaklands Barn & Garden Centre.

Much has occurred since our inauguaral meeting of interested locals in July, 2008 and the establishment of 3 initial beds in November of that year. Since July, '09 we now have 15 beds in total growing lettuce, carrots, beetroot, broad beans, brocoli, brussel sprouts, tomatoes, herbs, corn, silverbeet & potatoes.

Build your own beds easily with help from us and materials available on site.

Go to "Latest Events" to see all the fun we've been having at the garden. We've just raised a bamboo shelter/vertical plant growing frame.

Come and meet with other garden members on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10.00am.

How do you become a garden member?

  • Read the "Member Info and Guidelines" document. (This is currently unavailable, as it is being edited. It will be available again by the middle of February, 2010).
  • "Contact us" if you would like to enquire about joining us to garden at Oaklands.

No-Dig seminar report in local paper

We were thrilled with the extensive coverage this event received in the "Merimbula News Weekly" (19/8/09). As a result, we have welcomed more gardeners to our patch! Below we see Nancy & Judy having fun with a No-Dig bed.

Jean demonstrated a model of the Easy Build compost bin described on this website (http://thebegavalley.org.au/21095.html). Reported in the "Merimbula News Weekly" (9/9/09).
