The Day the Beds Arrived

Friday 7/11 was bright and hot when first begun,
We waited for the beds, so we could begin all the fun,
of planning their placement for best vege growth potential,
We’re hoping they’ll flourish in a manner exponential,

I’d tried to get a discount, but Steeline wouldn’t budge,
So we removed all their stickers, leaving a little smudge,
Tim was good though, backing the truck with the beds right around,
So their removal off the truck, and placement was quite sound.

Simon was helpful and let the truck in through dry mud,
But he predicted the beds would float off in a flood!
Some other bloke took over (still don’t know who he was!),
But he got the truck much closer, so he was welcome to us.

Nance & Jean lined them up, then Helene came to play,
But she couldn’t watch Jean drive the ute down that way,
There were holes and bits missing down the little narrow track,
But what’s a ute for if it can’t handle that?!

We took all the cardboard, recycled from Pyramid Power,
And lined the beds with it, in less than an hour,
Then along came Rob Zelley, to have a look at the progress,
He liked the beds and will get one, much easier, less stress.

But next thing we knew, the wind came up very strong,
And we thought they might fly off, like UFO’s gone wrong,
So Jean bolted home to retrieve ropes, wire and star pickets,
And Rob hammered them in, roped them, they looked like giant wickets!

Then Rob took off to work (or that’s what he said),
I’m glad someone’s out there earning while we play with garden beds!
Time for a quick bite and coffee with  Helene, Nance and Jean,
And looking forward to tomorrow, for more fun, hope we’re still keen.
