Sample Program and Other Details

Entry canoe/bushwalk, sustainability-in-action tour, site energy demonstration with wood selection and splitting, garden mulching/planting/harvesting, wholefoods preparation, trailwork, earth building, koala habitat survey and koala tree planting, night walk, solo spaces, fire hazard reduction, conservation and landcare discovery walks and river journeys.

Cost: $75/person/night with some variations in price dependent on numbers, meals, accommodation, equipment and staff supervision required (river and bike journeys and overnight landcare journeys involve longer days, additional equipment and higher levels of staff supervision)

Visit Duration: From 2 day to 12 day live-in programs (usually Mon to Fri for schools and longer 12 day programs for tertiary age).

Supervision: (staff/student ratio): we provide a one to eight ratio (however an accompanying teacher/supervisor is required during term time with groups under 18 years of age)

Numbers: Maximum group size of 24

Food: Provided, featuring whole foods and local organic produce where possible

Amenities: Renovated wooden train carraige bunkhouse with wide verandahs, indoor and outdoor cooking, steam boiler shower and composting toilets.  All solar power, solar and wood hot water heating with main hall kitchen in solar passive straw rendered hall with organic kitchen garden.

Safety Information: Comprehensive OHS policy including adoption of the CVA 'In Safe Hands' Conservation Project Guidelines and on-site risk assessment processes
