The footy clubs may be in recess, but Spectrum
Theatre Group is already in preparation for the 2009 season with David
Williamson's The Club.
The Club is one of Williamson's best known
plays. It reveals what goes on in the clubroom of a Melbourne football
club with the coming of professionalism and big business involvement in
sport.
As former AFL star Lou Richards once wrote, "David Willamson must have pinched half his lines for The Club from a fly on a committee room wall."
A play reading will be held on Thursday 27 November at 7.30pm at Twyford Hall.
Auditions will be held on Thursday 4 December at the hall.
There are 6 male roles to be filled, with ages ranging from early 20s to late 60s.
Anyone wishing to audition should contact Director Bill Deveril on 0416 048 579.
