Crossing Youth Projects

Energy Challenge (13-15 yrs) 

4-5 day midweek adventures in energy conservation making and learning by doing with natural and recycled materials. Includes journeys to bush and beach. Separately designed girls and boys programs for schools.

Sea to Snow Crossing (16-18 yrs)

Entry by application and interview to an incredible environment, landcare and sustainable design learning journey designed to meet requirements of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. 6 days training (mid year), 13 day journey (after exams).  With boats, backpacks and bicycles. Participants pay for training but recieve journey sponsorship - they also help fundraise to support future participants.

Crossing Partnership Projects

Young Stars for Fathers and their boys (6-10yrs) A partnership with the Pathways Foundation

An adventure filled weekend with activities structured to be father-son building self esteem and sharing stories around an open fire under the stars.

Landcare Youth Adventures (13-15yrs) A partnership with the Far South Coast Landcare Association

2-3 day fun weekend and holiday projects about landcare and sustainability (see Project Forms for the next one) - priority to young people from SE NSW but some places for those from further afield.

Sustainable Living and Conservation (18+ yrs) A partnership with International Student Volunteers

two week programs for tertiary students investigating conservation design for sustainable living and earthcare including water reuse, energy saving, koala habitat recovery, river estuary protection, and landcare discovery journeys with time for immersion and inspiration, community contribution and celebration.

Volunteer Weeks and Longer Internships (18+ yrs) A partnership with Willing Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF)

The Crossing is a registered WWOOF host and also welcomes holders of working holiday visas.
