See our main website at http://www.freewebs.com/zen-dragons Zen Dragon Boat Club has been formed by a group of enthusiastic dragon boat fans wanting to share the enjoyment of this unique sport on the pristine, sheltered waters of Top Lake, Merimbula. The name Zen was chosen for its cultural links to the sport, which originated in China over 2,000 years ago. Also, the philosophies of Zen Buddhism capture the essence of what this club represents…peaceful paddling and strength through positive thoughts and actions. The new Club aims to: · Provide fun, positive paddling experiences for both social and sports paddlers · Become recognised as a friendly, supportive Club, committed to developing the sport of dragon boat and its cultural heritage. · Develop sports teams including Juniors, Mixed, Mens, Womens and Masters, and to support these in their competitive endeavours. · Provide social opportunities for members outside paddling. · Provide regular opportunities for the public to try dragon boat in a friendly, safe environment.
