Far South Coast oyster Farmers have shown how it is done in the 2006 Fine Food Show Aquaculture Competition. With six of the twelve medal winners hailing from the Bega Valley, including the only two Gold Medal recipients! In fact, all medal winners from this years competition were from south of Sydney.
Congratulations must go to Hazelgrove Oysters of Pambula Lake and
Tathra Oysters of Nelsons Lagoon, the respective Gold Medal winners!
Tathra Oysters, again, dominated the show with their Gold Medal and Two of the three Silver Medals!
The local Bronze Medallists went to Merimbula Gourmet Oysters, Merimbula Lake and Currumbene Aquaculture, Pambula Lake.
Results like these reinforce the quality of the Bega Valley Shires waterways and their importance in terms of both economics and prestige.
