AUSTRALIA DAY 2006 ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - Mrs Patricia Eaton, Narooma VIEW Club
Pat Eaton has been involved with various charities and organisations in the Narooma area for over 30 years.
She has also been involved in the VIEW Club since 1992; she has played and been involved in squash for the past 25 years and has been made a life member in recognition of her service.
Pat actively supported the covering and heating of the Narooma Olympic Pool and now works in a voluntary position as teacher and leader of the exercise programs for the elderly and inform at the pool. She is the current President of the Narooma Hydrotheraphy Club.
Approximately 30 years ago, when Pat's daughters were young, she was instrumental in starting the Girl Guide and Brownie groups in Narooma. Many years later in the 1990s when it seemed as if the Guide movement would fold in Narooma, Pat did the necessary training and got the group going again.
Pat is a tireless and selfless worker who is always available to help those who need her assistance.
Esma has been involved with the Drop In Centre 8 to 9 years. The hospital Association 4 years, Meals on Wheels 23-24 years, Nursing Home 2 years. Scripture classes at Narooma Public and Tilba School, Community Transport, Church volunteer, Supervisor for the High School certificate and the HSC.
