    Hierarchy

Hierarchy is an idea of someome being more imortant in a certain social context. I.E. the emperor of Japan is more important thanthe shoe shine on the corner. Because the emporor is at the top of the hierarchical chain .

There are two simple diagrams thats how how a hierarchy works first is a 'tree style' list which shows something such as a chain of command in the military. And the second is a food 'Pyramid' showing creatures at the top of the food chain to be at the pinnacle of the preditory hierarchy.

in the military list it is possible to see the difference between a general -at the top- and a private -at the bottom- these give a brief example of what is to be part of a hierarchy.
