Sussex Inlet South News

An outing to the Candle Shack was the highlight for the View Club this month. Fifteen happy members arrived to look and listen to Paul guiding us through the process of making and decorating his colourful candles. Then a lengthy browse in the candle shop to purchase some of his creations. None of us left empty handed. Lunch was to be at a member’s home overlooking the water in St. Georges Basin, but she was called away on business and another member who lives in Basin View offered her home to us. A very pleasant lunch was prepared by another member and we all enjoyed sitting around eating and having a chat.

Next outing will be soup, damper and trivia day on 21st June. All welcome. Ring Jill 44410646 if interested.

Our last meeting was held on the 5th May. This was our Mother’s Day luncheon. The tables were as usual beautifully decorated by the committee, theme being yellow and white for the Mother’s Day flowers. A small posy of yellow and white flowers was presented to each member. Birthdays were celebrated by Faye Southward and Jeanne Campbell. Raffle winners were 1st. Helen Rutley, 2nd Carmen Hamburger, lucky door prize was won by birthday girl Faye Southward. The guest speaker was John Howlett talking about his passion for small orchids.

The next meeting will be 2nd June at the Sussex Inlet Bowling Club, 10.00am for 11.00am. Please remember all bookings and apologies to be with Alison 44410385 or Joan 44412961 before 5.00pm. Tuesday prior to Luncheon.
