Eden Whale Festival

Eden hosted the Whale Festival again this year during the first weekend in November. Most of the main street procession featured wheeled vehicles, our vintage cars from Pambula Historic Vehicle Club and Britek V8 super cars - better known as 'hot rods'.

Also featured in the street parade were 'Bob the Builder' of ABC fame, the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club Pipe Band and the Sapphire Coast Concert Band.

Trucks in all shapes and sizes employed for every purpose in the area, honked and tooted their way to Snug Cove where displays and market stalls had been set up in a carnival atmosphere. Here could be seen the POG Circus Performers, a cooking display, the Irish Dancers and several groups of local musical talent. Thirty vintage HSVC cars were also on display.

Waiting patiently outside the pub in the main street, were four beautifully groomed Clydesdale horses harnessed to the Carlton Draught historical beer barrel delivery waggon.

August Sunday Run

The Club had a wonderful day when members joined with the Bega Heritage Vehicle Club to enjoy a tour and lunch at Oaklands, Pambula - perfect weather and interesting new premises recently opened adjacent to the Princes Highway.  The Club's President took his Oakland to "Oaklands"!

van Niekerk Express!

Earlier this year, a sizeable number of members - and their grandchildren - took advantage of an invitation from Club members, Cynthia and Barrie van Niekirk to visit their forty acre property at Tilba. The property is situated with a breath-taking view of Guluga (Mount Dromedary) in one direction, and the waters of the Southern Ocean in the other.
A fabulous morning tea in a shed full of 'treasures' preceded a walk around the property where the historic vehicles are housed. Barry and Cynthia have been living on the property for ten years and during that time have completed a remarkable number of projects - not the least being a model train capable of carrying up to twelve people. This does not include Barrie the loco driver and Cynthia the guard!
