Q. Why don't you sell a white standard loaf?

We wanted to offer our customers products that weren't available elsewhere in this area - some of our loaves such as the "not quite white" and the soy milk Pane de Mei sourdough represent our version of the "standard white loaf".

Q. Why don't you slice the bread you make?

All our breads are hand-moulded which means they vary in size and shape making slicing uneven. Also they contain no preservatives or additives so slicing would cause the bread to lose its freshness.

Q. Why is the organic range more expensive?

Organic flours are more expensive, as are other organic ingredients, due to the labour-intensive nature of organic farming. Also, as a result of the ongoing drought the cost of our organic (and other non-organic) flours rose this year by 30%.
