The Rotary Club of Bega conducts an annual Youth Driver Awarenss Program at the Sapphire Coast Kart Club Track at Frogs Hollow near Bega.

The one day training package follows a national Rotary model (RYDA) providing Year 11 High School students with advice on finance, drink driving, accident outcomes, braking distances, the law and other aspects of being a responsible driver.

Now in it's third year the RYDA program has achieved acclaim throughout the community as an essential course for today's young people.

Mark Gibbens is walking from Perth to Sydney to raise money and awareness for a cure for cancer.

A Nurse, Mark has done a number of marathon walks to raise awareness including to help make people aware about the dangers of tobacco.
