As featured on ABC's Rural Report with Keva Gocher, a book of the Innaugural Bemboka Banquet has been written by one of the guests, Mr Ken Bennett of Banora Point.
Ken has very generously donated his book (which we will reproduce in CD form) along with all its proceeds to the Bemboka Show Society, thank you Ken!
This is your opportunity to relive the Bemboka Banquet experience with over 100 pages of historic details and countless memories. The book contains local photos, outlines the lead up to the Banquet, photos of the Banquet and, of course, Ken's story.
Also featured on the cd, by popular demand, are the historic photos featuring Bemboka from the late 1800's onwards that were used on the slide show from the Banquet.
A sample extract from his book is now available for viewing and full copies of over 100 pages (on cd as a pdf file) can be purchased for $15.00 plus $3.50 package & postage with all proceeds again going to the Bemboka Show Society.

Grow Local/Eat Local
The aim is to produce a Bemboka Banquet which will be grown, produced or manufactured within 15 kms of the Community of Bemboka and catered by local chefs. All proceeds from the Bemboka Banquet will go to the Bemboka Show Society.

You may be familiar with the eat local concepts, like the 100 mile dinner, well we in Bemboka are going delight you with food sourced from just 15 kms around town.
You are invited to help celebrate the richness and variety of produce a rural community of less than 350 can grow and that contributes to showcase a unique locavore dinner to be held at the Memorial Hall, Bemboka, NSW, on the 6th of February 2010.
'Locavore' means - culture that eats its own local food.
To avoid the disappointment one feels when 'lumped' with a non-favourite choice at a function, we have created a tasting menu of 4 courses with 5 dishes and per course, so you can eat them all!
With a Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef and another with Michelin Star experience driving this concept expectations are, obviously, very high.
Our intent is unique, record breaking, and historic!
We plan that 90% of the innovative menu will showcase fresh produce grown, produced, processed or sourced from within a 15km radius of the Post Office in Bemboka. Currently we are running at a touch over 94%! Our research indicates that this has never been done before in such a small radius. It is a World first, and you can pledge to be a part of it!
Are you planning to come from interstate?
Why not make the Bemboka Banquet part of a long week-end stay in the Bega Valley and Sapphire Coast or even longer?
There are many things to see and do from galleries to fishing, boating to bush walking, or just lying on a beach.
