The Opening of the Log Cabin 1936

THE UNIQUE EDEN LOG CABIN

The Eden Log Cabin is a faithful reproduction of a typical Canadian Log Cabin and was built in 1936. It is now managed by a committee for the Bega Valley Shire Council.

 

The Committee welcomes groups who would like to use the Log Cabin on either a regular or one-off occasion.

THE LOG CABIN TODAY

The Eden Log Cabin is an ideal facility for committee meetings, art displays, educational classes, public meetings, and family events, located centrally to the town area in Bass Street, Eden.

 

The historic building has a main room 20m by 12m that accommodates approximately 50 people, and features an outstanding pebble stone fireplace, and polished timber flooring.

Tables and comfortable chairs are available.

INSIDE THE LOG CABIN

Ceiling fans provide cool air and there are adequate mobile electric heaters.

 

A secondary room of about 12m x 4m will accommodate up to 12 people, and is especially suitable for committee meetings or special displays.

 

The modern well equipped kitchen includes abundant hot water, storage cupboards and crockery.

 

Ample toilet facilities provide for male, female and the disabled.

 

A wall hanging suspension system is availble for gallery style displays of art work.

A BRILLIANT DISPLAY SPACE

The ambience of the log walls and timber detail of the roof structure provides an ideal backdrop for displays of many kinds.

The Cabin sits in Beautiful Gardens

Outside, the Log Cabin is surrounded by a large landscaped area, shady trees, and extensive lawns.  It is currently being developed as part of the Gardens of Eden Project
