ptab Rodneys GloryiArrangement ideas: Rodney's Glory is a hornpipe. Slower than a Reel and often given a Dah Da, Dah Da, rhythmn. You'll hear that in the Midi or Power Tab play back. The melody implies a lot of natural harmonic movement in the chords. Your left hand is kept busy, so pay attention to organising your fingering moves for optimum flow. You'll only be sketching in partial chord shapes as you go, to reach the required basses. The piece is made very playable because the Amin chord harmony (open A and E string basses) can be employed where the melody moves out of first position. If you decide to have a go at this tune, by all means make it you own by experimenting with different chord progressions and/or bass line shapes within the chords as written. In my experience this evolutionary process will make the arrangement easier for you to play and remember.
