ptabRound the Horn Jay Ungar Ross SmithardThe main structural elements of my arrangements are, first position chords and freely used open strings in the melody and bass. I would always suggest that you find other sources for the harmony and melody in these tunes and use them along with my ideas as a basis for your own arrangements. The left hand full chord stretches in bar 6 are the most difficult bits in this arrangement. If after some practise, you feel that you can't become fluent with them at this stage - you could play the melody notes as written with only the basses on the 6th string. Let the G and F# basses ring for two beats each and run cleanly down to the E bass at bar 7. Alternatively you can explore the G and F# chord fingerings at the 7th and 9th frets.
