welcome

Welcome to my home page. It's early days yet but I'm keen to seeour whole community get online- with personal pages and local communitygroups online.
That's why I volunteered to take on the subsiteeditor job for the Towamba Valley- and in fact helped support Kate'spush for our own location too.

Our white Christmas at Thredbo!

What a magical place to spend Christmas-especially when it snows all day! It was incredible- heavy constant snow, huge flakes, and such a thrill to an ex-Queenslander!

Boxing Day was back to normal, making Christmas day all that more special!

Great idea!

Flood Feb 07

from nothing to roaring torrent....

What a change!

I love being able to take photos of our beautiful valley when its so green and beautiful. The flowering black wattles really add to it all as well. There's wildflowers blooming, birds in their full colours and water in the creek!

Have a look at the photo below from the incredible google earth website. Judging by the way the place looks like a moonscape -it looks like the pic was taken by satellites during the drought! At least the mountains look majestic still even tho the creek's dry as anything. The one hole that remained in the river shows up...

It looks dramatically different now-thigh high green grass (and allergy enhancing flowering grasses too!) and no brown anywhere.

I wanna new image!

Update march 2006

Maybe I should turn this into a weather blog!

Sad to read how green and lush it was, as it has quickly returned to what we're more used to. The creek and the river are no longer flowing and just sit in stagnant pools, the ground is dry...

At least the odd torrential shower is keeping the grass a little green, that and the cooler mornings and evenings where the dew will start to come into its own.

Where's that wet autumn?

Music and photos on the next page!
